Unit of Neurosciences and Peptides Biology

Mission and Objectives

The Center of Neuroscience and Peptides Biology of La Frontera University is an academic excellence structure for the development and study of biotechnology using peptides obtained from natural organisms, from which pharmacotherapeutical applications are developed.

Some Specific Objectives

*Development of R+D+i studies of natural extracts and peptides obtained from animal venom for biotechnological applications.

*Development of studies of pharmacological macromolecules for application in human, animal and vegetable health.

*Development of the study of pharmacology in animal and human fertility.

*Establishment of a center of excellence for training human resources in physiology, pharmacology and cellular and molecular biology.

*Establishment of a reference center for the study of macromolecules or drugs from natural origins.

*Establishment of a center of advanced technologies in patch clamp, confocal microscopy, microfluorometry, epifluorescence and cytometric flows.
